Disabilities Expert, End of Life Doula

My deep listening and non-judgmental view provide a safe space for folks to explore options when faced with life’s challenges. I came to work for Canadian Health Advocates Inc. because of their collaborative way of working with systems, highly ethical and skilled advocates, and their views on patient rights within medical and other systems. The advocates are able to take the time to look at the whole picture and put you, the client, in the driver’s seat.

Along with working for CHAI as their Disabilities Expert I also work as an End of Life Doula. I provide empowering support, information, and resources around needs related to end of life, no matter where you are in your journey. I can assist with Advanced Care Planning – making sure that you understand the options available and deciding who will make decisions around your care if you are unable to. I can also assist with communicating with your family and friends around your decisions. Ability to access and coordinate emotional and practical supports can assist you with retaining as much independence and personal agency for as long as possible. After death options, including green burials, are also some things I explore with my clients. I provide grief support and assistance with creating space to mourn and recognize the life of the person who has died.
