Austyn Hamm BScN, RN
In my experience as an RN, I have worked with all ages of life–from a 25-week-old to a 100-year-old. In addition, I have worked in postpartum/gynecology and home care. Caring for and educating individuals on their health and well-being is what brings me joy every day, and I am thrilled to be joining the team at CHAI.
It is a privilege to educate and advocate for Canadians regarding their health and help them navigate Canada’s healthcare system. I have experienced first-hand what it is like to get lost in our system and not being able to pinpoint the help needed in order to get the proper healthcare.
Our healthcare system and society can cause anxiety. Taking time to converse and provide compassion to individuals can change a person’s life. That’s why I became a nurse. The gratefulness and energy that surrounds my career is forever a blessing.
It is my passion to bring kindness, companionship, and direction to individuals within our healthcare system. I believe it’s not about an individual’s disease, it’s about the holistic aspect of the individual that defines them.
In my spare time, I hang out with my Golden Retriever puppy who is my pride and joy, my amazing boyfriend, and friends. My hobbies include going to the gym, making glass bead bracelets, and colouring/painting-by-number.
