Carmen Hintz, RN, BSN

As a Registered Nurse of 9 years, I have experience in acute care, mental health care, addictions, home and community care, long-term care, discharge planning, and end of life care.

Since moving to the East Kootenays 4 years ago, I have been fortunate to become familiar with the numerous community support agencies throughout the East Kootenays. As a result, I have built strong relationships within the local health region.

Throughout my nursing career, I’ve learned that mental health is prominent in all aspects of physical and emotional health yet it is often misunderstood and ignored. As your advocate, my goal is to bring a holistic approach to health care into every interaction and ensure your mental health is strengthened.

My dedication has always been to clients and their families. Advocating for patient rights, promoting a patient’s independence, and supporting patients through difficult decisions has always been of utmost importance. Recently certified as an end of life doula, I have developed a passion to assist those going through difficult times.  Whether it be a new or terminal diagnosis, navigating services available, or end of life care planning, I will bring peace and tranquility to your planning. I believe that the end of life journey should be celebrated rather than feared.  My goal is to help people before it is too late to find support.

When I’m not working, you will find my dogs and I enjoying this amazing place we get to call home.  Having an adventure outside of my door in every direction has been a blessing that I will never take for granted.

I look forward to working alongside you and your families.
