Mary O’Sullivan, RN
As a registered nurse with specialized training and experience in acute and chronic disease management, I have had the privilege of being part of the care spectrum from acute management to rehab, recovery, ongoing management, palliation, and even transplantation. Caring for and empowering patients through their journey is my ultimate passion and makes me a proud member of the CHAI team.
Having worked in multiple provinces and having close personal experiences with the health care systems, I have come to understand the complexity that patients and their families faced when looking for a diagnosis or once being diagnosed with complex and/or chronic illnesses. My goal as a patient advocate is to dedicate myself to patient education, choice, and independence and supporting families and patients to feel empowered to understand and play an active role in their care. Whatever the situation, I will bring support, care, compassion, and a deep understanding and knowledge of the care system to enable access to the support you need.
I am currently pursuing my Masters of Health Informatics and will use this emerging field knowledge to help you have access to and understand your medical records and the technologies that can help support your care and management.
When I’m not working, you will find me rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and on the trails with my family. I am very much looking forward to being a part of your care network, to help and support, and empower you to get the care, information, and resources you need.
